Holy Mission Public School

Our school is right here in Nalanda. It’s a place everyone knows because of the history, but our daily life is much more ordinary. The school building has a few blocks with different classrooms for the kids. We have a small gate at the entrance where the guard sits. Inside, it’s mostly just rows of benches and the sound of teachers talking. We have a small yard where the students stand for assembly in the morning. The sun can get quite strong, so we try to finish the outdoor stuff early. We have some basic science kits and a few computers, though they are older models. The staff room is always full of notebooks that need grading. We don't have a fancy website or a big marketing team. Most of our students come because their neighbors or cousins went here. It’s a very local feel. The floors are concrete and we try to keep them swept clean, though the dust always finds a way in. We have water coolers in the hallway for the hot months. During the holidays, the place feels very empty and quiet. It’s just a regular school trying to help the kids in the area. Nothing more, nothing less. We keep a simple record of attendance in big registers. The bell is just a piece of metal we hit with a hammer. It’s loud and everyone knows it's time to go home.
