Uttarakhand Travel Guide

We have been based here in Haridwar 249401 for quite some time now. Uttarakhand Travel Guide is basically just us helping folks figure out where they want to go when they visit the hills. It gets really busy around here, especially during the big mela times or summer holidays. Most days we are just sitting at the old wooden desk, answering the phone or talking to people who wander in. The weather in Haridwar is something else, it gets so hot in the middle of the year and then really cold when the wind blows down from the mountains in January. We do not have one of those big fancy offices you see in the city, just a simple room where we do our work. People always come in asking about which roads are blocked or if the temples are open and we just tell them what we've heard from the drivers. Sometimes the traffic right outside the door is a bit loud but you get used to it after a few years. We spend a lot of time looking at old maps and talking to the taxi guys about the route conditions. It is a pretty simple job when you think about it. We know the way because we have lived in this part of Uttarakhand our whole lives. You see all kinds of people coming through 249401. Some are in a massive hurry and others just want to sit by the river and relax. We try to keep things easy and honest for everyone.
