Universal Optics

Universal Optics is located over in the Industrial Estate at D-1. It’s a straightforward setup. We don’t have a big sign or a fancy lobby. Mostly, it’s just a place where we work on optics and lenses. Being in an industrial estate means we are surrounded by other shops and small factories, so there’s always the sound of machinery or people moving crates around. We’ve been in this unit for a while now. It’s not a huge place, but it fits what we need. We spend our time checking orders and making sure the optical parts we handle are in good shape. It gets a bit hot in the afternoons, but we manage. We aren’t trying to be the biggest company out there; we just want to get through the orders we have each week. Sometimes the power flickers, or a delivery is late, and we just deal with it as it comes. It’s a very hands-on kind of environment. People come by to pick up things or just to talk about what they need for their own projects. We keep it simple and don't use a lot of big words to describe what we do. It’s just about lenses and light and making sure the work is decent. We have been working from this same spot since we started and it works for us. It is a quiet but busy little place.
