Shakumbri Tour & Travels

Shakumbri Tour & Travels is located in the Bhupat Wala area of Haridwar. This part of town has a lot of ashrams and it is generally a bit calmer than the main market areas. We have our office in a small building along the road. It’s a plain space with a few desks and some benches for people to wait on. We don't have any high-end decor or professional receptionists. It’s usually just one of us sitting there handling the bookings and talking to the drivers. We spend a lot of time checking the vehicles out front to make sure they are clean and ready. Bhupat Wala is a nice place to work because you get to see a different side of Haridwar. We meet a lot of people who are staying in the nearby ashrams for a long time. We don't use any marketing lingo or try to impress anyone with big words. We just provide a way for people to get around when they need to go to the temples or the station. It is a straightforward business and we keep it that way. We have a routine that works for us and we don't feel the need to change it. Every day we just open up the shutters and wait to see who comes through the door. It’s a simple life and we are happy to be part of this neighborhood.
