Gupta Electrical

Gupta Electrical is over in Ganeshpur, very close to Ganesh Chowk. It’s a busy corner of the neighborhood. Our shop is usually a bit of a mess, with coils of wire, boxes of switches, and light bulbs stacked up wherever they will fit. We don't have any fancy displays. Most of the time, there are a few half-repaired appliances sitting on the front counter. People from the area come in when their fans stop working or they need a specific fuse that nobody else carries. We spend a lot of time testing wires and looking for parts in the back room, which is even more cluttered than the front. It’s a small operation. We have a few stools for customers to sit on while they wait for us to find something or finish a quick repair. When the monsoon hits, we get really busy with people having short circuits and water damage. The shop smells a bit like ozone and dusty cardboard. We aren't trying to be a big showroom; we are just a local spot where you can get your electrical bits and pieces without any trouble. Sometimes we get distracted talking to the regulars about local news or the weather. It is just a normal shop in a normal neighborhood, and we like it that way. We stay open until the market starts to quiet down in the evening, then we pack up and head home.
