You can find us at Plot No. 65 in the Industrial State, right by the Shobhapur Railway Crossing in Adharital. Working so close to the tracks means we hear the trains go by all day and night. The ground actually shakes a little when the heavy freight trains pass. We work with steel here, so there is always the sound of metal hitting metal or the hiss of the cutting machines. It’s an industrial area, so nobody minds the noise we make. Our building is a big shed with high ceilings to keep it from getting too hot, but in the summer, it still feels like an oven. We’ve got stacks of steel bars and plates all over the place. We don’t have a fancy office out front, just a small cabin where we keep the invoices and the phone. Most of our time is spent on the shop floor. We wear heavy boots and thick gloves because steel isn't very forgiving. The guys have been here a long time and we all know how the machines work better than anyone. It’s a tough job, and by the end of the shift, everyone is pretty tired. But it’s what we do. We aren't trying to impress anyone with a shiny lobby. We just focus on the steel and the orders that need to get loaded onto the trucks out back.
