The office is right on the Delhi Highway near Patanjali Yogpeeth. Being on the main road means there is always noise from the trucks and buses passing by. We see a lot of people coming in from the city who look a bit tired from the journey. My desk is usually covered in slips of paper and old keys. We have been working out of this spot in Haridwar for some time now. Some days the heat is really something, so we keep the fan running high. We mostly deal with folks who need to get around the local area or head back towards Delhi. Our drivers are local men who know the shortcuts when the highway gets backed up near the tolls. It isn't a glamorous job, just a lot of checking oil levels and making sure the air conditioning in the cars is actually cold. Sometimes a customer calls late at night because their train was delayed and they need a pickup. We try to answer whenever the phone rings. It’s just how things are here. We don't spend much time on decorations or anything like that because we are usually too busy looking at maps or talking to the mechanics down the street. It’s a plain place but we get the work done.
