Shivanand Emporium

You can find us right in the middle of Moti Bazar. It’s one of those spots where there’s always something happening right outside the door. We’ve been operating out of this shop for quite some time. The space is a bit cramped because we have so much stock piled up, but that’s just how it is in this part of town. We open up in the morning and stay until the market starts to quiet down in the evening. There isn't much room for a fancy lounge or anything, just the counters and the shelves. We know most of the other shopkeepers around here. It’s a tight community. We don’t really do much advertising; people just know we are here. Sometimes the rain makes the street a bit messy, but customers still find their way to us. We handle a lot of different items and try to keep the inventory moving. It’s a lot of manual work, lifting boxes and counting items. We don’t mind it. It’s what we know. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we haven't gotten around to it yet. We focus more on getting the orders right for the people who walk in. It’s a simple setup but it works for us. We keep a small radio in the corner playing the local news. It makes the long afternoons go by a bit faster.
