Rahul Jawla is the guy in charge here at Kasampurgreen Farmer Producer Company Limited. We are based in Kasampur, which is near Butrada. We are basically a bunch of local farmers who decided to team up. It’s hard to get anything done on your own these days, especially with how the market is. We don’t have a big storefront or anything shiny. Our workspace is pretty humble, just a place to store some stuff and keep our records. We spend most of our time talking about the weather and the price of seeds. Farming is a tough life and your hands are almost always dirty. We try to help each other out with tractors or finding people to buy the harvest. Sometimes the prices are really low and it gets discouraging, but having the company makes it feel a bit more stable. We’ve all known each other since we were kids, so there isn't much formality here. We wear our regular work clothes and we don’t use any big business words. We are just trying to make the farming life a little bit better for the people in our village. If you come to Kasampur and look for us, you’ll probably find us loading a truck or checking on the storage sheds. It is a simple operation and we take things one day at a time. We don’t have any fancy mission statements, we just work.
