Our office is located at number 660 in Shiv Vihar, which is part of the Ganeshpur neighborhood in Roorkee. Jiyadhan India Nidhi Limited is basically just a few of us working out of this space. Haridwar is a big place, but Ganeshpur feels like its own little world. We are right there among the houses and the small shops. People often stop by on their way to the market or after work. The office isn't very big, so it gets a bit cramped when three or four people come in at once. We don't mind, though. It makes for good conversation. We handle the local savings and small loans for people who live around Shiv Vihar. My desk is usually covered in papers and my tea cup is rarely empty. We don't have a professional cleaning crew or anything like that; we just sweep the floor ourselves every morning. It is a very humble way to run a business. Most of our members are people we’ve known for years. We don’t have any fancy signs or big lights outside. If you live in Shiv Vihar, you probably already know where house 660 is. We just try to be useful and keep things simple for everyone in the area. And if the power goes out, we just sit on the porch and wait for it to come back. That is just how things go.
