We are located right at Shiv Vishram Grah, which is very close to Har Ki Paudi. Because of the location, we see a whole lot of people passing through every single day, especially during the festivals when the crowds get really thick. The shop is usually open early because the pilgrims are out and about before the sun even comes up. We carry a bit of everything that someone might need while they are staying in the area. It’s not a huge store, so we have to use every inch of wall space to hang things up. The shelves are packed tight. Sometimes it’s hard to find a specific item quickly, but we usually know exactly which pile it’s buried under. The floors get dusty from all the foot traffic, so we end up sweeping three or four times a day just to keep it decent. It’s loud outside most of the time with the bells and the chanting and people talking, but inside it’s a bit more focused. We don't have any fancy displays or bright lights. It’s just a practical shop for practical things. My brother and I take turns at the counter so one of us can go get tea or eat. We’ve been in this spot for a long time now and have seen the area change quite a bit, but our little corner stays mostly the same.
