You can find us at 1104-1105 in the Salempur Rajputana Industrial Area. Being in Roorkee means we are right in the middle of a lot of manufacturing and heavy work. Our space is basically two units that we’ve filled with equipment and a small area for the desk work. It’s an industrial zone, so it’s never really quiet here. There is always a truck backing up or someone using a machine next door. We provide various services to the industries around Uttarakhand. It’s not the kind of job where you stay clean; there’s usually some grease or dust on our clothes by the end of the shift. We started Abacus Services a while back just to handle the practical needs of the local plants. We aren't into big speeches or fancy presentations. We just talk to the managers, see what needs doing, and get our tools ready. Sometimes the rain in Roorkee makes it hard to move things around the yard, but we manage. We’ve got a small group of workers who have been with us for a long time, and we all just know the routine. The office part of the unit is a bit disorganized with stacks of invoices and old manuals, but we know where everything is. It’s a basic, hard-working setup and that suits us just fine. We don't need a lot of bells and whistles to do what we do every day.
