A To Z

Being right at No. 158/1 near the Railway Station in Purwawali means we see a lot of people every single day. The trains coming in and out provide a sort of background noise that you eventually stop hearing after a few weeks of working here. A To Z is basically just a place where we keep a bit of everything. It’s a convenient spot for people who are getting off a train or waiting for one to arrive. The shop isn't very large, so we have to use every bit of shelf space we have, sometimes stacking things right up to the ceiling. It can be a bit of a squeeze when more than three people are inside at once. We don't really do much in the way of advertising because the location does the work for us. We open up early because that is when the first big crowds start moving through the station area. By the time evening rolls around, we’re usually pretty tired, but there is always a bit more cleaning to do before we can lock up. The floor gets dirty fast with all the foot traffic from the street. We’ve seen the area change a lot over the years, with new stalls opening up and old ones closing down, but we’ve managed to stay put in this same spot near the tracks. It’s a busy life, but it keeps us on our toes.
