S K Package Industry sits at number 6 in the Dheer Khera Industrial Area along the Meerut Road in Hapur. If you come out this way, you’ll see it’s a place where things are actually made. There is a lot of noise from the machines and the smell of cardboard and glue is pretty much everywhere. We spend our days making sure the packaging is cut right and glued strong enough to hold whatever goes inside. The industrial area can get pretty dusty and the road is always full of heavy trucks moving in and out of Uttar Pradesh. It’s a practical kind of job where you get your hands dirty and you’re on your feet for most of the shift. We don’t have fancy chairs or a lobby with a fountain. It’s a factory floor with stacks of paper and finished boxes piled up waiting to be loaded onto a lorry. When the power goes out, we just wait it out or use the generator to keep the lines moving. The guys here have been working these machines for a long time so they know exactly how to fix a jam or change a blade without thinking twice. It’s not a glamorous life but it’s honest work that needs to be done. We just keep our heads down and fill the orders as they come in. There is always more to pack and the trucks don't like to wait.
