Khalsa Bricks

Our yard is located at 52/253, College Fatak Road in Hanumangarh Town. It’s not far from the railway crossing, so you can often hear the trains passing by while we work. Khalsa Bricks has been a part of this town for a long time. The place is usually covered in a layer of fine dust, which is expected when you’re dealing with bricks. We have a small office near the gate where we handle the paperwork. It’s just a simple room with a couple of chairs and a calendar on the wall. The workers start their day early when the air is still cool. Hanumangarh gets very hot in the summer, so we try to get the heavy loading done before noon. Most of our customers are locals building houses or small shops nearby. We don’t use any fancy machinery for everything; a lot of it is still done by hand. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy. Sometimes we have tea together in the afternoon when the sun is highest. We aren't trying to be the biggest company around, just doing our bit for the people in the town. The trucks come in through the gate on College Fatak Road, and we load them up one by one. It’s a steady rhythm that we’ve followed for years. The road out front gets quite busy during school hours, but otherwise it’s just the usual town traffic. Our ledger is getting quite full now, and the shelf is sagging under all the files. We stay until the sun sets.
