The General Market is where everything happens for us. Being near the Syndicate Bank means there is always a crowd of people walking by, which keeps things lively. Gayatri Trading Company is just a small setup, nothing too grand. We spend most of our time organizing the stock and talking to the regular people who come through. It’s a bit cramped inside sometimes with all the boxes, but we know where everything is. The market gets very loud in the afternoons with the rickshaws and the vendors calling out. We usually have our lunch sitting in the back or right at the counter if it’s busy. Dealing with suppliers can be a headache sometimes because the trucks can’t always find a place to park in the narrow streets near the bank. But we’ve lived and worked here long enough to know the shortcuts. It is a simple life of buying and selling and keeping track of the books. We don’t go in for anything flashy. Just a regular business trying to stay on top of the daily grind. The rainy season makes the market a bit of a mess, but we just put out the mats and keep going. Most days go by pretty fast because there is always something to move or someone to talk to. We like being part of the local market scene here and seeing the same faces every morning when we open up for the day.
