Aswal Exporters

Living and working in Kumta means we get used to the rhythm of the N.H.-17. Our place, Aswal Exporters, is right near the post office, which makes things easier for us when we have stuff to send out. Being in North Canara, we deal with the heat and the rain just like everyone else. It’s a lot of packing boxes and checking lists every day. We aren't a big corporation with shiny floors; it’s more about stacks of crates and the sound of trucks passing by on the highway. Sometimes the power goes out, or the monsoon makes the roads a bit tricky, but we manage to get things done. We’ve been at this for some time now, just focusing on moving goods from here to wherever they need to go. The office is small, mostly just a desk and some chairs where we sit and talk to the drivers. Most of our day is spent making sure everything is labeled right and ready to move. You’ll find us down by the highway most mornings, starting early before it gets too hot. It’s just us here, a few local hands making sure the exports from this part of the world actually get where they're supposed to. We don't have a big team, just a few people who know the area and the work well enough to keep the wheels turning. We like the pace of life here.
