If you walk down through Lashkar Bazar, you will find us at house number 5-7-18. It is a busy street with a lot of noise and people walking by all the time. The shop is mostly filled with the sound of the machines running and the whirring of the cooling fans. We do a lot of copying and printing here every single day for the local folks and students. The smell of warm paper and toner is always in the air, especially in the afternoons. Sometimes the paper jams and we have to open up the side of the machine to pull out the crumpled bits. It happens when the machines have been running for hours without a break. We have a small wooden counter where people drop off their documents or books. Some people are in a huge hurry and others just want to chat for a minute while they wait for their pages to come out of the tray. We try to keep the stacks of paper organized so nothing gets lost in the shuffle. The shop isn't very large, so it can feel a bit tight when three or four people are waiting at once near the door. We’ve been in Lashkar Bazar for a good while, so we know most of the other shop owners around here. It’s a basic setup with just what we need to get the work done. No fancy decorations on the walls, just a few calendars. We open up in the morning and keep the machines going until it’s time to close.
