Bukya Amuku

This is Bukya Amuku. I stay and work out of my place at 1-34 Anepuram village. My husband is Hussain, and we’ve been in this area for a long time. Anepuram is a quiet village in the Maripeda Mandal. It’s not like the big cities where everything moves so fast. Here, we know our neighbors and we see the same faces every day. My house is simple, and I handle my business right from here. Sometimes it’s hard to balance chores with work, but you get used to the rhythm of the day. The chickens outside make a lot of noise in the afternoon, and the kids are usually running around the lane after school. Maripeda is the nearest main town, so we head there when we need supplies that we can't find in the village. Life at 1-34 is humble. There isn't any fancy office furniture or big computers. I just have my notebooks and whatever I need for the day's tasks. The weather is usually hot, so we try to get the heavy work done early in the morning before the sun gets too high. Bukya Amuku is just the name on the papers, but it represents the hard work I put in every day to keep things going. People in Anepuram help each other out, and that’s how we’ve always managed. It’s a peaceful way to live, even if it’s a bit far from everything else.
