Bahavani Tiffen Center

Bahavani Tiffen Center is a small place over at H.No:-2-6-1319/A in the Bhavaninagar area of Hanamkonda. Our mornings start way before the sun is up because that is when the batter needs to be ready and the chutneys have to be ground. The kitchen gets hot pretty fast, and by seven in the morning, the smell of sambar is everywhere. It is a simple setup with a few benches and tables, and we don’t have any fancy decorations on the walls. Most of our customers are folks from around the neighborhood or students who are rushing to their classes and need a quick plate of idli or a dosa. We use a lot of firewood and gas, so there is always a bit of soot and steam in the air. Sometimes we run out of certain items earlier than expected if the crowd is big, and we just have to tell people to wait for the next batch. It is hard work standing on your feet all day, but it’s what we have been doing for a long time now. We don’t have a printed menu or anything; people just know what we have by looking at the stove. The pavement outside gets a bit crowded with parked bikes during the rush hour, but we manage to keep things moving. It is just a basic local tiffin center serving the people nearby.
