Ambuja Cements Ltd

Out here in Nareli, things are a bit quieter than in the big cities. We are part of the Ambuja Cements Ltd setup in the Hamirpur district of Himachal Pradesh. Our location is basically a village post office area, so everyone knows everyone else. The work is mostly about managing the supply for the local builders around this part of the hills. Because we are in H.P., the weather can change fast, and we have to be really careful about keeping the cement bags away from any dampness or rain. Our building is a practical one, built to hold the weight and keep things secure. We don’t have a marketing team or anything like that. It’s just us, some heavy bags, and the trucks that come up the winding roads to reach us. Sometimes the deliveries are delayed if the roads are bad, but that’s just life in the mountains. We spend our days counting inventory and helping load the smaller vehicles that take the cement to local construction sites. It is dusty work, and your hands get rough after a while, but it’s what we do. We’ve been at this spot for a while now, and we just keep our heads down and do the job. There isn't much more to it than that. We just provide the cement to the folks who need it in Nareli. It is a steady rhythm we have here.
