P.W.D. U.P. Hamirpur

The P.W.D. office for the U.P. government in Hamirpur is located in Mohalla Qaziyana. Saqib Ali and the rest of us work out of this building near the Jama Masjid. We handle the public works for the Hamirpur district. This means we are responsible for the local government buildings and the roads that connect the different mohallas. Our office isn't anything special to look at, just a regular place with high ceilings and lots of wooden cabinets for the files. We spend a lot of time dealing with the unique challenges of building in this part of Uttar Pradesh. The summer heat can be quite something, so we try to get the outdoor inspections done early. We know the people in the neighborhood and they know us. Most of the time, we are just reviewing the work done by the laborers or checking if the materials delivered are what we ordered.
