Pankaj Sharma

My name is Pankaj Sharma and I am based in Vpo Marhoon within the Palampur Tehsil of Kangra district. It is a very different kind of environment compared to the big cities. Out here in Marhoon, the air is clean and the mountains are always in view. I work from a small setup that serves the local needs of the village and the surrounding areas. Life in Kangra moves at a slower pace, which is something I have always appreciated. My office is basically a room with the essentials I need to get my work done. People from the village stop by to say hello or to ask for help with various things. I don't have a big staff or a fancy title. Most of my day is spent handling local matters and keeping my records in order. Palampur is a beautiful place, and being in a VPO means I am right in the middle of the community. I walk to most places I need to go. The weather can get quite cold in the winter, so I keep a small heater by my desk. In the summers, it is just perfect. I have lived here a long time, so everyone knows where my place is. It is not a corporate business by any means. It’s just me, Pankaj Sharma, doing my bit in this small corner of Himachal. I enjoy the quiet and the fact that I can see the green hills every time I look out.
