Jeevika Mobile World And Readymade Centre

Running Jeevika Mobile World and Readymade Centre in Banda is a bit of a balancing act. We are located on SH-92, right in the Kalu Kuwana area. It’s a funny mix because on one side of the shop we have mobile phones and chargers, and on the other side, we have racks of clothes. It happened that way because people kept asking for both, so we just put them together. The Uttar Pradesh heat can be something else, so we have a couple of big fans that run all day and make a lot of noise. Much of my time is spent either explaining phone features to someone or helping a guy find a shirt that fits. The shop gets quite dusty being near the highway, so we are always dusting the glass counters. It’s a local place where people stop by while they’re traveling through. No fancy management or corporate rules exist here. It’s just us trying to keep things organized. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to sit in the dark for a bit, chatting with whoever is in the shop. Most of the people around here are known to us by name. It’s a lot of work to keep track of two different kinds of inventory, but it keeps the days interesting. We just try to have what people need, whether it's a new screen guard or a pair of jeans for the weekend.
