Hotel Chinar

Our place is in Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh, right where the local roads meet. It’s called Hotel Chinar. We’ve been here in this part of India for a while. Mostly we just handle people passing through or folks who need a place to stay for a night or two. The building has its quirks, like the doors that sometimes stick when it gets humid outside. We spend a lot of time cleaning rooms and making sure the blankets are fresh. It’s not a big fancy resort or anything, just a building with some rooms. Sometimes the power goes out in the area, so we have to deal with that. We know the local languages around here which helps when guests have questions about where to go or what to eat nearby. The view is okay if you're on the right side of the building. We don’t have a massive staff, just a few of us doing the laundry, fixing the plumbing, and checking people in at the desk. It can be quiet some weeks and then suddenly everyone shows up at once. We try to keep the water running hot and the beds made. It’s a regular business, trying to stay busy and keep things in order. Nothing more to it than that. We just open the doors every morning and see who comes by. It is a simple life up here in the hills.
