Bhundel Khand Eye Hospital

We are located in Hamirpur, specifically right near the main Orai bus stand. It’s a very easy place to find because the bus stand is a landmark for everyone. Our building is usually surrounded by people coming from the buses. The noise of engines and people shouting for tickets is something we hear every single day. Inside the eye hospital, things are a bit calmer. We have the vision charts on the walls and the machines for checking people’s eyes. The lighting has to be just right for the exams. Most days, the waiting room is packed with people who have traveled from the outskirts of Hamirpur. They sit on the benches and wait their turn. We’ve been here for years, so the walls have a few scuffs and the floor shows some wear from all the foot traffic. It’s a practical space. We focus on getting through the list of patients. Some days we have surgeries scheduled, and those are our longest days. The staff lives around Hamirpur, so we are all locals here. We don’t have fancy uniforms or a big reception desk. It’s just us, the eye equipment, and the patients. Being near the Orai bus stand means there is never a dull moment. We just open the doors in the morning and start working until the sun goes down. It’s a busy life, but it’s what we know.
