Ahana Hospital

Ahana Hospital is over in Azad Nagar, specifically near the Lohia Bridge. Being so close to the bridge means there is always a lot of activity and the sound of cars going over the expansion joints. The hospital building itself has been part of Azad Nagar for a while now. We have a front desk where someone is usually sitting, trying to keep the records straight. It’s a big job because people are always coming in with different needs. The hallways are wide enough for stretchers, and the walls are painted a pale color that doesn’t show the dirt too much. We have a few fans that hum along all day to keep the air moving. In the rainy season, you can see the water pooling near the bridge, but we stay dry enough inside. The waiting room has some sturdy chairs that have seen better days, but they are comfortable enough if you have to sit for an hour. We don’t have any big signs or flashing lights, just a simple name on the front. People know where we are because of the bridge landmark. Working here means seeing a lot of life happen every day, some of it good and some of it difficult. We just keep our heads down and do the work that needs doing. It’s a busy place but it has a rhythm that we are all used to. Sometimes the local vendors walk by calling out their wares, which we can hear from the upper floors.
