Hello Kids

Hello Kids is located in Saroch Bhawan, which is in Vpo Bela. We are near Nadaun in the Hamirpur district of Himachal Pradesh. It’s a quiet part of the world with lots of trees and hills. Our school is basically a local house that we’ve used for teaching for some time now. It doesn’t look like those big city schools you see in magazines. It’s a modest place with a few rooms and a small area for the kids to play in the dirt. We have been running things here for a while now. Most of the people in Bela know who we are. We don't have a fancy office or a secretary at the front desk. Usually, one of us just answers the door when someone knocks or calls out. We teach the small children from the village. It's a lot of singing and basic numbers and letters. The weather here can be unpredictable, so we just adapt and move things inside when it rains. We have some plastic chairs and some mats for the kids to sit on while they listen to stories. It’s not fancy, but it works for us and the families here. We don't do much in the way of advertising. Usually, a mother tells another mother about us at the market, and then they show up the next week to see the place. We just try to be a helpful part of the community. There isn't any big mission statement on the wall. We just show up and teach.
