Sai Plastic

Sai Plastic is located at Plot No. 907. It’s a basic industrial unit, nothing special to look at from the street. Inside, we have our molding machines and heaps of plastic granules ready to be melted down. It gets quite warm in here because of the heaters, so we keep the doors open as much as we can to let the breeze through. We make all sorts of small plastic parts that people probably don't think about much, but they are necessary for different things. There’s a specific smell to the place—that hot plastic smell—that you never really get out of your clothes. We have a small crew, mostly guys from the neighborhood who know how to handle the machinery without having to be told. We don't really do much in the way of advertising. Most of our work comes from people who have known us for years. If a machine breaks, we usually try to fix it ourselves first to save time and money. The floor is concrete and a bit cracked in places, but it holds up. We work a standard shift, but sometimes we stay late if a big order needs to be finished. It’s the kind of place where you get your hands dirty every single day. We don’t have a fancy lobby, just a small desk where we keep the invoices and a kettle for making tea.
