Hng Float Glass Ltd.

Down on Chapaner Road in Phase-3, that’s where you’ll find the Hng Float Glass Ltd. facility. It’s a big operation because making glass takes a lot of space and heat. We deal with huge sheets of float glass every single day. The furnaces run pretty much all the time. It’s not the kind of place where you can just turn things off and go home. There's always someone on shift making sure the glass is cooling down correctly so it doesn't crack. It gets dusty, and you have to be careful where you step because of the sharp scraps. We aren't into big speeches about what we do. We just make the glass and load it onto the trucks. The road outside can get a bit bumpy with all the heavy loads going out, but that's just part of being in an industrial zone. Most of us live nearby, so the commute isn't too bad. We've seen the area change over the years as more buildings went up around us. Inside the plant, it’s mostly about watching the gauges and making sure the machines are behaving. It’s hard work, and your hands get rough, but it pays the bills. Sometimes the machines break down and we have to spend all night fixing them. That's just how the glass business goes. We don't have a lot of visitors, mostly just drivers and suppliers coming through the main gate. The break room has an old television that barely works, but we still put it on.
