Sethi Bricks

Sethi Bricks is situated on Bareilly Road. We are right next to Sukhija Sweets in the Mangal Parao area. It’s a good landmark because everyone knows the sweet shop. The smell of frying snacks sometimes drifts over to our yard. Our side of the fence is much grittier, though. We deal with bricks all day long. Bareilly Road is always busy with traffic. We see cars and buses going by constantly. Our yard is filled with stacks of different sizes. We spend most of our time out in the sun or under a small tin roof when it rains. It’s a simple operation. We don’t have any fancy technology to show off. We just count the bricks and load them up. Sometimes the trucks get stuck if the ground is wet, which causes a bit of a headache. Mangal Parao is a lively place to be. We’ve been here long enough that we don’t need a GPS to find our way around. We know the other shop owners nearby. If you come to look for us, just look for the sweets and you’ll see our stacks right there. It’s hard work, and the dust gets everywhere, even in our hair. But that’s just how it goes when you run a brick business. Sethi Bricks isn't about anything flashy. We just stay at our spot and keep working. We close up when it gets dark and start again the next morning.
