We are based out in Village Anandpur, which is just a bit away from the main city of Nainital. It’s a different world out here compared to the tourist spots up the hill. Things move a lot slower. We have our setup near the main road so the trucks can reach us without too much trouble. In the mornings, it can be quite chilly, especially in the winter months, so we usually start the day with a small fire or some hot tea. Our storage area is just a basic shed where we keep the supplies. We don't have any fancy displays or sales staff in suits. It’s just us and whoever happens to drop by from the nearby villages. Most of our work involves moving bags and keeping track of who owes what. We know the families around here, and they know us. Sometimes the mountain weather makes deliveries difficult, with the fog or the rain, so we just have to be patient. We don't do much in the way of promotion; news travels fast enough by word of mouth in a place like this. It’s a quiet life, mostly spent outdoors or in the doorway of the shop. We’re just local people helping other local people get what they need for their homes. It’s nothing special, just a steady job that we’ve been doing for a long time now. We usually close up early before the evening fog rolls in and the light fades.
