G. D. Motors

G. D. Motors is located out in Village Monirampur. We are part of the Sutahata police station area, which is not too far from the industrial part of Haldia in Purba Midnapur. It’s a bit of a drive to get out here from the main city, but it is a good spot for what we do. The post office is over at Doro Krishnanagar. Most of us who work here live in the nearby villages, so we don't have far to travel in the morning. The shop is usually busy with the sound of tools and engines. Since we are near the industrial hub of Haldia, there are always vehicles that need looking at. We don't have a shiny showroom or anything like that. It is just a workshop where we get our hands dirty every day. There is usually a bit of oil on the floor and some old parts stacked in the corner. We spend a lot of time talking to truck drivers and local residents who need help with their motors. It's a very straightforward way of working. We don't use a lot of fancy words or try to impress anyone with big talk. We just fix what is broken and make sure things are running right before they leave the yard. The air smells like diesel and dust most of the time. In the rainy season, the yard gets a bit muddy, but we just put on our boots and keep going. It is honest work in a quiet part of the district.
