Imdadkushi Foundation

Over here in Purbakittarbond Part-II, which is in Hailakandi, you will find the Imdadkushi Foundation. Imdad Uddin Mazumder is the one who keeps everything running. We are right here in the heart of our community in Assam. Most of us grew up around here, so we know the families and the land pretty well. We started this because we saw that sometimes the smaller villages get overlooked. We don't have a fancy office with glass walls. We usually just meet up where it’s convenient and talk about what needs doing for the week. It might be helping a neighbor with their farm or seeing if we can get some supplies for the local kids. Life in Hailakandi moves at its own pace, and we try to work with that. We aren't trying to be anything we aren't. We are just regular people who want to help our own. Sometimes the weather makes it hard to get around, especially when the rains are heavy, but we do what we can. People know they can come by and talk to Imdad if they have a concern. We don't have big funding or anything like that, just our own effort and a bit of time. It’s a quiet way of living, but we feel like we are doing something decent for the people we’ve known our whole lives. That is basically the whole story of why we are here in Purbakittarbond.
