Datta Textile

You can find Datta Textile over in Ashok Nagar, right near the Pally Unnayan Sangha Club. It’s a well-known spot, so if you ask anyone near the banana area, they can usually point you toward us. We handle a lot of different fabrics and materials here. The shop floor is often covered in scraps and rolls of cloth that we’re currently sorting through. It’s a bit of a maze sometimes, especially when a new shipment of cotton or silk comes in. We’ve been working out of this space for quite some time, and it feels like home now, even with the dust and the constant noise from the street. The club nearby always has something going on, so there’s usually a bit of music or people chatting outside our doors. We don't have a big corporate strategy or anything like that. We just wake up, come to the shop, and start cutting and measuring whatever needs to be sent out. Sometimes the machines act up and we have to spend half the morning fixing them, but that’s just part of the deal. We try to keep the local spirit alive here, chatting with the neighbors and making sure we do right by everyone who stops in. It’s a simple life, focused on the textiles and the daily routine of the neighborhood.
