The Stone House

You can find us on A.B. Road, right near the Nehru Petrol Pump. We are pretty much opposite the Dharam Kanta here in Lashkar. It’s a dusty part of town but that’s where the stones are. We have piles of marble, granite, and different types of tiles all over the yard. It’s a lot of lifting. Most days are spent showing people different slabs and trying to help them figure out what fits their floor. Stones aren't perfect, they have cracks and colors that change, and we tell people that straight up. We don't try to hide the chips. We’ve been at this location for a while now. The trucks come in early and block the entrance sometimes, which is a bit of a pain for the neighbors. We try to keep the yard organized but with so much heavy material, it’s a constant battle. The sun gets really hot out here on the road, so we stay under the sheds when we can. We don’t do much fancy talking. You see a stone you like, we price it out, and we figure out how to get it to your house. Lashkar is a busy area, so there is always someone stopping by to ask about prices. We just give them a fair answer and get back to moving the inventory. It’s a solid business and it keeps us occupied. There is always more stone to move.
