The Desire Academy

The Desire Academy is situated over by the Military Camp near 6 No. Square. It’s the Chhawni area of Morar, so there’s a lot of discipline and activity around us. We’ve been here for some time now, working out of this space. The location is pretty easy to find once you get to the square. It’s a bit of a walk from the main bus stop, but most people don't mind. We have a few rooms where the teaching happens. It’s nothing like those big institutes you see in magazines. It is just a plain, functional space with whiteboards and some old desks. We spend the morning preparing for the day and the afternoons are usually packed with students. The air around the military camp is a bit different, maybe a little quieter than the rest of Gwalior. We don’t have a big marketing budget or a fancy website. Most of our students come from the families living around Morar or the Chhawni area. It's just us trying to help them pass their exams or learn a new skill. Sometimes we have to move the benches around to fit everyone in. It gets a bit crowded during the peak season, but we manage. It’s a local operation, run by people who live right here. We just show up every day and do the teaching as best as we can. It’s hard work, but we are used to it.
