Tarasuraj Welfare Foundation

We are located at LIG-800 in the Pt Deen Dayal Awash area, which is part of the Mangla Housing Board Colony. It’s a pretty standard neighborhood, and our foundation office is basically just a regular room we’ve set up. You won’t find any big glowing signs or fancy lobby areas here. It is mostly just us sitting around a couple of old wooden desks with stacks of papers that never seem to get smaller. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we haven’t really found the time to deal with that yet. People from around the colony drop by quite often, sometimes just to say hello or to ask about what we are doing. We spend a lot of our mornings sorting through mail and trying to keep the records straight. It gets quite warm in the afternoons, so we usually have the fan going full blast. Working in the housing board colony means we are right in the middle of everything. You can hear the kids playing outside and the street vendors passing by throughout the day. It’s a noisy, lively place to work. We don’t have a big staff, just a few local people who help out when they can. We try to stay organized, but sometimes things get a bit messy when we’re busy. It is a practical way to run things, and it keeps us close to the people we are trying to help out.
