Shiv Shankar Kirana Store

If you find yourself at Baladari Chouraha in Morar Town, Gwalior, you will probably see Shiv Shankar Kirana Store. We are located right near the LIC office, which is a big landmark around here. Our shop is where we spend almost all our time. It’s a typical kirana store filled with the things people use every day. We have bags of grains, bottles of oil, and all the various spices you need for cooking. The store is usually a bit busy in the mornings when people are getting their supplies for the day. We have a lot of regular customers who have been coming to us for years. They know exactly where everything is, sometimes better than we do. The shelves are mostly made of wood and they are packed tight. We don’t have a lot of fancy equipment, just a counter and a scale that we’ve used forever. Sometimes the street outside gets noisy with all the traffic at the chouraha, but we are used to the sound by now. We take pride in just being here and staying open when people need us. It’s not a complicated business. We just buy stock, put it on the shelves, and sell it to our neighbors. It’s hard work being on your feet all day, but it’s what we do. We don't have any big corporate plans. We just want to keep the shop running and make sure people get what they need.
