Ratan Agency

Ratan Agency is located inside the Ravi Kiran Market, right at Jiwaji Chowk in the Lashkar area of Gwalior. Being in a market like this means it’s always busy and there is a lot of noise. There are people coming and going from all the surrounding shops all day long. We deal with things on a slightly different scale here since we are an agency. The shop is usually filled with crates and boxes that just arrived or are waiting to be picked up by the retailers. Lashkar is an old part of Gwalior, so the streets are narrow and sometimes hard to navigate with a big vehicle. We’ve learned how to manage that over the years, though it can be a headache. Our space in the market isn't huge, so we have to stay very organized with our stock. There is a lot of paperwork involved in what we do, which I usually handle at a small wooden desk in the back corner. The fans are always humming to keep the air moving in the stuffy room. We aren't really a walk-in retail store for just a single item. It’s more about the bulk stuff. Gwalior gets very cold in the winter and incredibly hot in the summer, so our daily routine changes with the weather. We work mostly with other local businesses and retailers in the city. It’s a lot of talking on the phone and checking ledgers. We’ve been at this location for a good while, so people in the trade know where to find us.
