Mukesh General Store

Mukesh General Store is located on Mall Road in the Morar area of Gwalior. I’ve been operating this shop for quite a few years now. It’s a straightforward general store where we keep all the things a normal household might run out of during the week. You can find things like soap, shampoo, spices, and loose grains in our containers. Gwalior gets very hot in the summer, so I spend a lot of time under the ceiling fan waiting for customers to come in during the cooler hours of the morning or evening. The shop is in a good spot on Mall Road, so we get a mix of regulars and people just passing through Morar on their way somewhere else. I handle most of the daily tasks myself, like checking the inventory and keeping the front tidy for everyone. It’s not a fancy supermarket, just a local shop with wooden counters and glass jars for candies. I know most of the people who live in the nearby lanes. We talk about the local news while I pack their bags with whatever they bought. I don't really believe in big marketing tricks or fancy ads. I just open my shutters every morning and try to be helpful to whoever walks in. Sometimes the delivery trucks are late and we run out of fresh bread, but that’s just part of the job. It’s a small, independent business and I’m proud to keep it running. If you are in Morar, my door is usually open.
