Meera Door Frames

Meera Door Frames is tucked away in the Bahodapur area, right in the thick of Dal Bazar. If you know the market, you know it is always crowded with people moving goods back and forth on carts. Our shop is where we spend most of our daylight hours, surrounded by the smell of wood and the sound of saws cutting through timber. It is a bit loud and messy, but that is the nature of making door frames for local houses. We don't have a showroom with bright lights and fancy displays. Most of our space is taken up by the raw materials and the frames we have finished for the day. My family has been around this part of town for a long time, so we’ve seen the market change quite a bit over the years. Some days are slow, while others have us working late just to keep up with the orders from builders in the neighborhood. We try to keep things straightforward here. If someone walks in, they usually talk to me or one of the guys directly. There’s no fancy reception desk or anything like that. The floors are usually covered in sawdust by noon, and we sweep it up before heading home. It is just a regular local business doing what we know how to do. Being in Dal Bazar means we are right in the middle of everything, which helps when we need to move the heavy frames out to the trucks.
