People know this spot in Patel Nagar because it’s close to the Bank of Maharashtra. My name is on the sign but it's really just a place for the neighborhood to get their daily stuff. We keep the usual things like flour, pulses, and cooking oil stacked up. Sometimes the shop feels a bit cramped because there are so many sacks on the floor. Gwalior summers are tough, so we try to keep the drinks cold in the small fridge we have. It’s not a supermarket where you walk around with a cart. You just tell us what you need and we get it from the back. We have been here for a while now. The routine is the same every day. Open the shutters, sweep the front, and wait for the first customer. Most people around here are regulars who have been coming for years. We carry the common brands of toothpaste and washing powder that everyone uses. Sometimes we run out of things if the supply truck is late, but we manage. It’s a basic shop for basic needs. Nothing fancy. The City Centre area is growing, but we still operate the old way. Just honest work and making sure the jars are full. If you need something for your kitchen, we probably have it tucked away somewhere on a shelf. We stay here until the late evening when the street lights come on.
