Mahendra General Store

Mahendra General Store is located in Lashkar City, Gwalior, right near the Rambaag Colony Gate. If you are in Shinde Ki Chawani, you can’t miss the gate. Our address is 474009. The shop has been a part of this neighborhood for a long time. I wake up early to open the shutters by seven because the colony people want their milk and bread before they go to work. It’s a quiet routine. The gate is a good landmark for people who are new to the area. Inside, the store is filled with the smell of spices and soaps. I try to keep the stocks full, but sometimes the wholesaler doesn't show up on time and the shelves look a bit empty for a day. We have a small counter where I sit and write down what people owe me in a yellow ledger. Most of the people here are regulars, so we trust each other.
