Our place is tucked away in Maharani Laxmibai Colony, specifically at 71 Savatra. If you know Gwalior, you know the Padav area can get pretty crowded, but our street is usually okay. We are right near the House of Physics, which is a good landmark if you are visiting JD Institute Of Fashion Technology for the first time. We spend most of our hours looking at fabrics and sketching out ideas on messy tables. It is not always glamorous like you see on TV, mostly it is just hard work and getting the stitching right. The office has a lot of natural light, which helps when you are trying to match colors. We have been here for a bit, seeing different groups of students come and go with their portfolios. Some days the sewing machines are loud and everyone is talking at once, and other days it is just quiet work. We keep things pretty relaxed. You don't need a formal appointment to talk to us; usually, someone is around near the front desk or in the back room. The colony is a nice spot for a school like ours because it feels more like a community than a cold office block. We’ve had to fix the signage a few times because of the wind, but the building is sturdy. It’s just us doing what we know how to do in this part of town and helping folks learn a trade that involves their hands and their creativity.
