Our place is Hukum Chand Niwas, located in Dana Oli, Lashkar, over here in Gwalior. It’s an older part of town with a lot of history, which makes it an interesting place for an engineering firm like Jacobs Engineering India Pvt Ltd to be. The building has its own character, maybe a bit more than your typical modern office. We’ve got our rooms set up for the work we do, and it gets pretty busy when a new project starts. Gwalior is a bit different from the big metro cities, and our office reflects that. It’s a bit more relaxed, but we still have to meet all our deadlines. The Dana Oli area is usually buzzing with people, so there's always something going on outside. We don't really have a fancy reception area or a big lobby. People just walk in and we get to talking about whatever needs fixing or designing. It’s a very hands-on kind of environment. Most of the people working here are from around MP, so we know the area well. We don’t spend much time worrying about how we look to the outside world. We’re more concerned with making sure the technical side of things is right. It’s a simple, honest way to run an office, and it seems to work for us. We just keep our heads down and get through the drawings and the data without needing any big corporate speeches to keep us going.
