Heritage Tours & Travels

Our office is at J/17, Jaisalmar House in Chetakpuri, which is part of Lashkar City here in Gwalior. It’s a regular building and we’ve been here long enough that the neighbors all know our names. Heritage Tours & Travels is basically just a few of us sitting around desks with computers and phones. We don’t have a polished corporate look at all. There are usually some papers piled up and a half-empty tea cup sitting somewhere on a desk. We spend the day looking at routes and trying to find the easiest way to get people from one place to another. Gwalior has a lot of history, and since we are based right here, we end up talking about it a lot with visitors who stop by. We don’t have a scripted sales pitch to give. We just tell people which roads are bumpy and which trains are usually running late. It’s about being practical and honest. If a trip doesn’t make sense for a family, we tell them so. We handle the bookings, talk to the drivers, and make sure the dates line up correctly. Sometimes things go wrong, like a flight gets delayed or a road is closed, and we spend the whole afternoon on the phone sorting it out. That’s just the nature of travel. We like the Chetakpuri area because it’s a bit calmer than the very center of town, but still close to everything we need.
