Dwarikadhish General Store

Dwarikadhish General Store is over in Sadar Bazar in Morar, Gwalior. This part of the city is always full of energy, and being in the main bazaar means there is never a quiet moment. We have many different things on our shelves, mostly the stuff people need for their daily lives. The shop has been here for a long time, and the wooden counter is worn smooth from all the years of use. I spend most of my day standing or sitting on a small wooden bench behind the counter. We don't have room for any fancy displays, so we just stack the items wherever they will fit. Sometimes it looks a bit cluttered to others, but we know exactly where every single item is located. The sun hits the front of the shop in the morning, which makes it very bright for a few hours. We usually have a small radio playing in the background, mostly just for the news or some old music. My son comes by in the evenings to help me pull down the heavy shutters. It is a tough job, and my back is not as strong as it used to be. We have a lot of talks with the other shopkeepers on our street. It is a tight community here in Sadar Bazar. We do not use any fancy systems, just a pen and a pad of paper to keep track of our sales. It is a simple way to spend the day.
