Dr. Sanjay Dhawale Clinic

If you find yourself near the Old Bus Stand in Khampoo, you’ll see our clinic right across the street. It’s a very busy spot because of all the buses and travelers coming and going throughout the day. Dr. Sanjay Dhawale set up the clinic here because it’s so easy for people to find when they get off the bus. The area can get quite dusty and noisy with all the engines and people shouting, but inside the clinic, we try to keep things a bit more orderly. It’s a modest building with a small waiting area. We see people from all walks of life, some just passing through Khampoo and others who have lived here for decades. The walls have a few old posters on them, and the furniture is pretty basic. We spend a lot of time cleaning the front windows because of the bus stand grime. It’s a functional space where the focus is just on the patients. Dr. Dhawale is usually there behind his desk, surrounded by medical books and stacks of papers. We don't use much fancy technology; it's mostly pen and paper for our notes. The tea stall nearby is where we usually get our drinks, and the smell of frying snacks sometimes wafts into the clinic. It’s a very grounded, everyday kind of place. We just open the doors every morning and see who the day brings in from the bus stand.
