Uma Agarwal

My name is Uma Agarwal and I work out of Gulab Kunj. It is on the 1st floor on Nilamoni Phukan Road, which is just off G S Road in Guwahati. We are in the Christian Basti area, which is a very well-known part of town. I have been here for years. The building is called Gulab Kunj, and it has that old Guwahati feel to it. It’s not a modern glass tower or anything like that. Just a solid place where I do my work. I handle various things from this office, mostly talking to people and helping them sort out their needs. Being on Nilamoni Phukan Road is nice because it is a bit quieter than being right on the main G S Road, but still very close to everything. I have my desk and a few chairs for visitors. It’s a very personal way of doing things. I don't like the feel of those big offices where you are just a number. Here in 781005, we know our neighbors. I spend a lot of my time on the phone or meeting with folks who drop by. It’s a simple life and a simple business. I just try to be helpful and get the work done as it comes. Christian Basti is a good place to be based and I plan to stay here for the long run.
